The Birdie Lou Counseling Center is named after Birdie Lou Tatum, Dr. Tatum's paternal grandmother. "Grandma Lou", as she is lovingly known to her family, continues to inspire many by living a life of love, integrity, and purpose, all while being the funniest woman in the room.
The first project from Sierra Meadows Foundation is The Birdie Lou Counseling Center. The Birdie Lou Counseling Center provides free therapy services to those in Fresno County experiencing mild to moderate mental health symptoms. We offer individual therapy for adults and children (7 and older), couples therapy, family therapy, and a variety of groups to address a wide range of mental healthcare concerns.
Birdie Lou Counseling Center functions as an experiential placement site for therapists-in-training with local marriage and family therapy, counseling, and social work masters programs. All therapists-in-training are supervised by our experienced, licensed clinical supervisors. This model allows for our clientele to receive thorough care at no cost.
